As all employers are aware, the Coronavirus outbreak is a developing story and Government guidance and help for employers is changing on a daily basis at present.
You will have seen this week that the Government is introducing, as a temporary measure, SSP from day 1 and the Chancellor announced that the cost of SSP for coronavirus-related absence will be covered for businesses with fewer than 250 employees, providing over £2 billion for up to two million businesses.
The crisis has also prompted many employers to review their existing workplace policies, to see if they can be adapted in the short term to assist planning and avoid the disruption that a wider outbreak may cause. MILS have therefore drafted the attached template policy that can be used and adapted as appropriate.
